Progress on new Symphony Ecobox XL vessels at Ferus Smit Shipyards
The bow section of the first of two vessels takes shape and the contours of the accommodation section become visible. The design of the new Ecobox XL will have its focus on loading extra long items, such as windmill blades, while maintaining her good capabilities as a normal general cargo ship. The modifications in design and systems also aim to further enhance her excellent ‘green’ performance with a reduction of her EEDI-score to a new class reference standard.

MV Symphony Sun spotted in video 'Offloading Wind Turbine Components at RHB'
MV Symphony Sun is spotted in this short video 'Offloading Wind Turbine Components at RHB, Rotterdam' by Rotterdam Port Promotion Council. Mike van der Pluijm (RHB Stevedoring & Warehousing) tells about offloading the tower components, which can weigh up to 83,000 kg per unit, using one of the heaviest port cranes in Europe.
